78 Bronco

Bought a 78 Bronco the other day. Have always wanted one. Has a tired 351M. Would love to put a 460 in but with the gas prices? I was thinking more along the lines of a 351W, kind of a Ligthning style build with FI. Would the engine mount frame stands be correct and let me use a 302 engine mount? I would like to start gathering parts ahead of time. I have the van oil pan setup and small block C-6. Any other major pieces I should keep my eyes open for while roaming the bone yards? Thanks

That thing is heavy, with no overdrive transmission. You're gonna get bad mileage whatever you do. The 351M probably gets about 11-12 mpg. Might as well make some power with it! Check out this site:

Yes it is heavy. I was afraid to check mileage, between gassing it up and the wifes car to pick it up in N.Dakota used the credit card so much in one day they thought the card was stolen and shut it off! Guess for my limited use I'll be leaning toward the 460. Thanks
