75 F-250 suspension lift

Anybody know who makes a suspension lift for a 1975 F-250 highboy? Checked Superlift, Trailmaster, Tuff Country...nothing over 4 inches! I need at least 6 more in the rear and 8 in the front to accomodate the 44x18.5-16.5's I just purchased. I'm not adverse to custom building one, however, I don't know a lot of the details involved, (ie., pinion angle adjustment, blocks and add-a-leafs vs. springs, etc...). Any info would be greatly appreciated. Also, several questionable sources have told me that I can mount the tires on 16.5x10 rims...they look awful skinny to me to mount on the massive rubber. Is this true or do I need to buy 12 or 14 inch rims?

Thanks, Eric

NO ONE MAKES A LIFT FOR YOUR TRUCK, BUT YOU HAVE SOME OPTIONS. I HAVE THE VERY SAME TRUCK AT HOME, (OR AT LEAST THE BARE FRAME) I MUD RACED THE TRUCK FOR 3 YEARS, AND WHEN I BOUGHT IT IT WOULD EASILY ACCEPT 44 INCH TIRES. THE GUY I GOT IT FROM HAD HAD THE STOCK SPRINGS RE-ARCHED, AND THE ADDED 3 OR 4 LEAVES PER SIDE. BUSHWACKER FENDER FLARES ADDED THE FINISHING TOUCH. I RAN FOR ONE YEAR LIKE THIS, THE NEXT YEAR IN A EFFORT TO LIGHTEN THE TRUCK AND SOFTEN THE SUSPENSION, I PULLED 3 LEAVES PER CORNER, AND IT STILL TOOK 40S WITH NO PROBLEM. I STILL HANE ALL THE SPRINGS AND WOULD LOVE TO GET RID OF THE WHOLE FRAME, IM IN CEDAR RAPIDS, IOWA, SO LET ME KNOW. OH, ONE MORE THING- ON THE HIGH BOY 44S WILL GIVE YOU TROUBLE BECAUSE OF THE CONTROL VALVE FOR THE STEERING-THE LEFT FRONT TIRE WILL HIT IT ON HARD RIGHT TURNS-GOOD LUCK

You are absolutely correct! NOONE makes a lift over 4 inches for this truck. I've decided to build my own lift. I am designing a set of 10" saddle blocks that will set directly on the axle shaft and will be welded on all the way around the axle. The spring perch will have to be cut off and the axle rolled back about 1 3/4 or 2 inches. I will attach the two blocks together with a 1 1/2 inch bar welded from one to the other over the differential. I will then fabricate a set of ladder bars to attach to the axle, (I haven't figured this out yet), and extend to about the middle of the frame. For the front, I will buy a pair of 12 inch lift springs. I refuse to buy a cheaper pair of Chevy 2 1/2 inch springs, therefore, I have to pony up the $1000.00 to have these 3 inch springs custom-made. So it will be awhile before my monster is complete. Hopefully this combo will be safer than the precariously situated tall blocks I've seen on so many home built suspensions before. As far as the steering control valve, I've not even thought of this, thanks for bringing it to my attention.
