Speedometer Gear

I have an 1985 F150, original 300/6, 3.08 rear, C5 3-sp. auto.

I changed out the engine to a 95 302HO crate, and changed the 3.08 gear to a 3.55. I still have the C5 trans in the truck.

What speedometer gear, do I need? More or less number of "teeth".

With the orginal gear, 55mph reads about 65 or 70.

Thanks.

More teeth on speedo gear will slow it down. They used to have conversion charts in the old motorsports catalogs. Might find something on the web. Sometimes you can only go so far with the speedo gear, then you get into changing transmission output shaft or having some type of reduction box like the 4X4s used.
