2wd to 4wd Navajo project.Why do i do this

at the begining of the summer i spotted what i thought was a 2 door explorer turned out to be a 2 door 2wd Mazda Navajo with a 4.0/A4LD and all the toys. They wanted $400 for it and the tranny was bad(only had reverse) so i said i would think about it. Well i got it last week for $100 with some extras.

the extras was this

but thats all right the interior is in good shape,no rips, just dirty and stinks.Every thing works(except the trans) and it runs beauty.Well should i rebuild the A4LD?? NOT,i have a complete 4X4 5spd set up,so here i go,another project.

out with the A4LD

and in with the 5spd

next is to change the I-BEAM's to the TTB.But not right now

had to do a little fab work on the t-case linkage.I think(could be wrong)all explorers/navajo's had electric t-cases,so that could be why the linkage didnt line up

all better and shifts beauty

had to shim the clutch master to one side, didnt line up with the pedal. all this came out of a 89/90 Ranger

Very cool Tbolt! So are you gonna put a sold axle under it? What happened with that V8 ranger, I saw a link to a video here where you were rodding down the road and it looked great!
