Auto trans in a \'74 Bronco:

I am resto- modding a '74 Bronco for my brother. The truck has a column shifted Top loader 3 speed tranny. He wants an automatic in it. What is involved in putting an automatic in it? Will I have to change the transfer case? Any info will be appreciated.

It'll depend which tranny you're putting in place of the manual. This article seems to cover everything.

It's a bolt in if you can find a factory donor. If you don't want a 3 speed C4, not sure what's involved to stick a AOD or whatever in one. C4 is pretty simple though, if you have a parts truck.
