Well guys and girls I'm thinking about droping my 1984 F 150 2wd a couple of inch's (2 or 3 ) .What is the easiest and most reasonable way?The rear end should be easy by removing a spring or so and adding air bags w/compresor. But the front I'm not sure about .

Likely your I-beams wont be able to be aligned with such a drastic drop. I'd look for some aftermaket beams from someone like fabtech. Will make the job MUCH easier.

You want to get I beams for it. That much drop or lift will change your alignment drasticly.

I've ran 2" drop with no problems, by having the beams heated and tweaked a little. I think that's about the limit, and it's more like 1.5", if I remember right.

That's the way we used to do it...

Now we've got stuff like this

I've been thinking about getting some new beams myself, but I think I'm just gonna get some drop springs, and a hanger kit for the back... that is, if I bother to lower it any.

They work fine, BUT it will ride harsher. They are also expensive, but if you shop around, you SHOULD be able to figure out who makes them for LMC.

I had to have my beams tweaked, but any decent alignment shop should be able to do that. Tires wore fine.

I used the drop brackets in the back and kept my stock springs, I tried taking a couple leaves out first, but since I tow a trailer that didn't work so hot. Did make it ride a little smoother.
