t5 tranny into \'70 F100?

fairly new to the forums so, hello to all.

my question is basic. has anyone done this conversion? I have a t5 laying around from a '93 mustang I parted out a couple of years ago and I want to put it to use. I also have the corresponding bellhousing for the t5 and I'm sure I can scrounge up all the clutch related parts.

please advise.

Heavy truck for a T-5... should be an easy swap. You can just move the crossmember wherever you need & redrill the holes.
Might think about not using a cable clutch though

I was thinking the same thing about the weight of the truck but, in all honesty it would just be a mock up and maybe it would only be in there for a short time. atleast until I can get the money together for a TREMEC.

why do you think I should stay away from a cable clutch?

Much easier just to use the truck linkage Sounds like a fun project

Except if you have a large motor. The t5 will only handle up to... 400hp/ft-lbs, I think? So be careful. You may want to get a TKO.

I just had the 302 rebuilt so it will be in there for a while. it only has about 12k miles on it and it's not built for power. mainly just a good driver.

I was definitly thinking TKO, but does anyone think the t5 will not hold up for a while?

I hope it will, because I've got a t5 in my Ranchero, behind a mild 302. I really don't want to have to spend more money on the drivetrain yet. ><
