What does everybody think of the 6.0 powerstrokes? Compared to the 7.3?

I've got nearly 200,000 on my Early 99 PSD with the 7.3 and I'll never get rid of it.

I have another towed in 6.0L today. No ICP pressure. After several hours of diag. I couldn`t forget what Torino501 said about Branch tubes cracking and high pressure lines disconnecting without the tool. So I removed the cover on high pressure pump and there it was, LINE DISCONNECTED WITHOUT THE TOOL ![img]/forums/images/smiles/icon_bicker.gif[/img][img]/forums/images/smiles/icon_frown.gif[/img][img]/forums/images/smiles/icon_lame.gif[/img] Thanks for putting that in the back of my head.

Is the new motor gonna be any better? comperable to the 7.3?

ya thats kinda what i thought. I heard from somebody that the the 6.0 was a quick replacement for the 7.3. just something to keep up with the duramax until Ford got their good moter built. I was hoping that the this 6.4 or whatever it is, would be that motor. There is only one way to find out.... wait for it.

My dad was just at the dealership getting a new tranny for his 2000 powerstroke. 192K, no problems with the motor. The guy there was saying that he can't wait for the new motor. He said he hopes it is comperable to the 7.3 but he really didn't know. We at least have something to be hopeful for....

If they can keep this new motor from breaking all the time it sounds like it could really be something.

I have an 06 6.0L with 10,000 miles on it. 3 turbos later, rearmain and now the motor, tranny, drivelines everything is laying on the local Ford dealers shop floor to repair another oil leak. My Ford rep is refusing to replace the vehicle saying it is "fixable not replacable". How much is enough on this vehicle? Not to mention the powersteering went out, the rear axle burnt. No power upgrades on this vehicle at all it is just a bad one. Any info. you might have to help me file a claim with the BBB let me know. Thanks

martin with only 10k on the odometer with 3 turbo's rear main seal,either we're not getting the whole story or there is some serious misdiagnosis going on,as far as oil leaks go............... i try to counsel the customer on the ''LEAK''.is ita a drip,pour,or just slight seepage,if its a drip or pour i have no problom taking the cab off or whatever is necesary to fix it, now a seep......do you realy want me to rip your truck apart because of a stain on the trans bell housing. to my knowledge i dont know of any leak prone area's,seepage though another story,cac tubes,bed plate, the list goes on,as far as a buyback goes,good luck.
