katrina victim being turned into a bracket SUV???

well while out cutting grass.......I ran across a 1992 explorer 4 door. after much conversation I struck up a deal with the owner and now I have a 4 door explorer destined to be a bracket SUV for my local track.
Talk about room for sponsors lol.....this puppy is huge compared to the last mustang I built. According to my latest info the thing weights in at 4163 lbs curb weight. Thats a whooper!
If I can get it down to around 3200 or less, I'll stick in some used parts I have laying around off a few mustangs, 302 roller engine, C-4 and rebuild the rear end and brakes. Lighten it up a bit and go bracket racing............follow along, I may even submit a article if Ford muscle wants as I build this thing from the ground up!

Drop a big block into it, get rid of all that junk interior and everything else that isn't needed, and let 'er rip. Even at 4200 lbs, its still lighter than a Lightning (2nd gen lightnings weigh 4700 lbs).

I wonder....if a Lightning motor will fit in a Exploder? Hmmm.....

i seriously think i can get the weight down to around 3000 lbs. So to help with that weight I'll stick to the small block........and mustang EFI system I have currently.
