66 f100 347, 351, or 390?

looking to do a new engine in my friends 66 f100. he has a 352. he wants the easiest build and compatability.

he wanted a c6 then a c4, now we are back to c6 or any of your suggestions on combos that work best.

thanks in advance for your suggestions. he still thinks he can do the one piece driveshaft. any info on that would help too. i told him he is better off not doing the one piece. he wants aluminum!

so 347, 351, 390? c6, c4 or (???)? and driveshaft issues kept in mind. thanks again.

Since he already has an Fe with the 352 he should stick with that. It'll be easier in the long run. Rebuild the 352 to a 390 and use the C6 for a reliable and strong set up.
I have a long bed 71 F100, 460-c6 and I am running a steel 1 piece drive-shaft with no problems. I had it built at a local drive-line shop for around $100

I agree with Clint, go with the FE. The truck needs a torque engine not a screamer. The C-6 is available and bolts right up, C-4 wont (no bellhousing) Im running a car 3 speed with OD in my 65 F-100 with one piece driveshaft, no problems.

Anyone catch the last episode of Overhaulin? Ther did a 67 F250. Kind of dissapointing the FE was replaced with a 351W

I'd go 351W, especially if his 352 needs rebuilding.

No small block!

Since he's got the FE already...go with a rebuild and make your 352 a 390 with a C6, one of the most bullet proof combinations with more torque than you might even imagine right now. More than any stock 351W will put out.

who rebuilds engines back to stock? Might as well make the 351 a 393 if you make the 352 a 390. Equally cheap and simple.
