Ranger hydraulic clutch line woes

Hi everyone. I just installed a new slave cylinder in my 1988 ranger. The new slave cylinder has the 2001 type fitting on it. Will the 2001 clutch line fit the 88 clutch master cylinder or will I have to change the the the master cylinder too ? It seems that all the new clutch kits have this type of slave cylinder for this year of ranger.

Ranger hydraulic clutch line woes

Thats what I thought, then I went back to the store where I bought it, they told me it was the correct kit for that year of truck. The person I tallked to said they all changed to the newer type fitting. I was thinking a 2001 line would fit the 88 master cylinder . The parts man at a local ford dealer was not sure if the 2001 line would fit the 88 master cylinder. Anyone have any information that can help me? I bought the clutch kit at autozone.

Hi. Thanks for the reply. The truck has a 2.3 The trans. is the mazda 5 speed.I can't see why they would change the kits and not sell the line to fit this. The local ford dealer does not have a line in stock. I would have to purchase a new one at 70.00$.
