An early 6.9 is a far different animal than a Powerstroke. The 6.9 had mechanical injection pump which can easily handle some clean waste oil
I cant imagine it would hurt a thing if its clean and fuel filters are changed as needed on the 6.9
The later systems are electronically fired, but build pressure using hi pressure oil, when they run dry it galls the injectors and ruins them quickly. 7.3's seem to be more tolerant, but a 6.0 doesnt seem to like it
Personally, I think in small quantities your 7.3 can handle it, but watch the fuel filter closely. If you had a 6.0, I would expect the filters would plug and quickly run dry
