Rear End Swap

I am thinking of swapping my drum brake 8.8 rear end for a disc brake 8.8 rear end. I have a 1992 F150 and was wondering if anyone new what a good donor vehicle might be? I would like to find something that is pretty much bolt on after I take my old one out. Any suggestions is greatly appreciated.

Somebody in here has to have done a rear end swap in this forum to achieve disc brakes! COME ON GUYS!

I dont think disc brakes came on these trucks till the 97 model change. If the width is correct, and the rear speed sensor is compatible, you should be able to make something work. Might not be able to keep your ABS, but Im not sure.

Is there any particular reason you want discs?

The stock EXPLORER rear disc brake assembly should bolt right on.
The spacer that rests within the flange assembly might be the only obstacle. You dont have to pull/swap your entire rear end.Just brakes.
I have done it on a couple big bearing nine inchers with major modifications required , but the result is absolutely better engineering.
I cant believe no one else has responded......YET??????????
