Tim, I think that the only problem you will have is matching up tie rod ends to fit the Effie spindles....
You will be too narrow, so a longer rack arm will be needed and the ball socket on the Effie front end is likely larger than what's used on the Volvo.
As far as mounting, that's all creative engineering and steering column placement and compatibility.
