Bed cover repair

A neighbor of mine has a late model Ford pickup with a fiberglass taneau (ignore the spelling) cover. It's the type that looks kind of like a coffin. At the rear about a foot from the side it has a crack about three inches long. Is there some way that he can repair it? He's tried 2 part epoxie, but the flexing during opening and closing caused it to fail.
