ranger questions

hey there

ive ben thinking about doin a v-8 ranger swap as my next project..ive found a 2wd ranger near home cheap but its extended cab..i dont really want extended cab..is the extended cab jus a longbox frame with a longer cab and a short bed on these rangers( or pretty close to that? basically i was wondering if the wheel base is the same for extended cab short box and regular cab long box.. if so i could do that much swaping easy but if its different i dont want to get in to deep over my head..

by the way this truck is basically a drag project so the cab will probally get modified so im not to worried about bolting right on
