302 in a ranger

my grand father has a 1989 ford ranger it has a 2.9 v6 in it but i want to but a 302 but not sure what i need. Do they sell motor mounts or do i need to buy a new k member. i know i need to but a bigger rear end. i want to run a stroker 347 motor and a c4 trans with a 3000 stall but do i have to hammer the fire wall to fit the c4 and do the sell i trans mount for this applcation or do i have make my own.. im almost sure ill have to get a custom drive shaft.

has any one done this before??

i dont plan on drive this pickup every day but i do want it too be street legal

I've done a couple of these swaps, and they are actually pretty simple. You will need the following.

Ranger swap motor mounts (I have some for sale)
Ranger swap headers
Oil filter relocation kit
C4 with the 157 tooth (small) bellhousing
8.8 rearend
And your stock Ranger driveshaft WILL WORK, you just have to get a C4 yoke for the driveshaft

Plan on the actual swap taking about 75HRS. If you need to know anything else about the swap just PM me, I can even give you specific part numbers you might need. Hope this helps!

Yes.
Ford Ranger V-8 Engine Swap - not the Conversion Bible, but the entire tech library is good info.
V8 Tech - Ranger Power Sports Forum This forum is HP oriented.
V-8 Conversion Forums - The Ranger Station Forums This site is more 4X4 oriented, but the V8 forum is great.
Don't forget to search before you post. Nobody likes an irritating newbie starting threads that've been started before!
Search for "vert mounts" -- that will get you started.
4.0L mounts w/ fabricated adapter plates work, too.
