460 swap

i have a 77 f100 with a 302. i'm swaping out for a 460. i've read somwhere someone said the used a set of moddified 390 mounts. i wanna do the stock look conversion. not wanting to use l&l mounts. so what mounts do i need to do the swap?

F250 form '73 to '79. Came with 460's. Get all three parts. Frame stands, insulators, and block brackets..

well i tromped through the junk yards today and i couldn't find a truck with a 460. well actully couldn't even find a 460 period. is there anyother frame stand that would work? or does anyone know where you can buy frame stand online?

Have an auto wrecker do a North American search. They'll turn up.

thats a great idea didn't think of that thanks for the idea. so would i ask them to search for? 460 frame towers? or is there a technical term for it? or is that the technical term. haha

Why not use the L&L mounts?..I used my 302 frame towers and just needed the mounts that bolt to the big block engine..I got the L&L mounts and it was a very simple and straight forward swap after that..I'm doubtful anyone could tell if those mounts were stock or not anyway after the engine is in and the exhaust is on..

i can use my 302 frame towers if i find the right 460 block mounts? i may just go that route,

I'm pretty sure you'll need the 460 towers.

It has been a while since I did this but as far as I know there are only six cylinder and V-8 towers..There is no difference between small block and big block towers..The difference is in the mount that bolts to the engine...In response to your PM these are the mounts I used with my 429 and 302 towers that were already in the truck...
