1964 XL 500 Galaxie $4,000 IDAHO
Originaly a 289 car, had a junk 302 in it when I found it. I have installed a 4V 390 drivetrain out of a 1964 standard Fastback Galaxie. Mileage on the 390 motor is unknown. It has been re-built at some point, judging by how clean it looks under the valve cover, there aren't many miles on it.
New dual exhaust with flowmasters, I also had them route the pipes as close to original as possible.
New cap, rotor, points, wires and plugs.
She's ready to cruise.
Interior is in great shape, I believe a previous owner had the seats and possibly the headliner replaced. Carpet is fair, wear hole behind the accelerator pedal.
There is a set of aftermarket gauges mounted under the dash, they work as well as the gas and temp. gauge in the dashpod.
All the lights work, except for the dash gauge lights, I believe it just needs a few bulbs.
Interior chrome is good and all there, some of the handles show minor pitting, but are still very nice.
Exterior chrome is all there and in good condition.
Grill is good, needs the paint accents re-done.
White is a hard color to try and photograph annd get any minor blemishes to show. There is a spot on the hood that has dried and cracked, but I can't get it to show in the pictures.
Hope the pictures help to show how nice and solid this car is.
All floor pans, as well as the trunk are solid. The frame as well.
Easiest way to reach me is e-mail: fourdoorbronko@msn.com
Thanks
Jeff
Rest of the pictures are here.

Re: 1964 XL 500 Galaxie $4,000 IDAHO
It looks like an XL, but why does it have 500 trim on the outside?

Which trim are you talking about?
All I can tell you is it is an XL, right down to the VIN# 4J68Cxxxxxx
Feel free to decode it all you want.
Possibly, whatever "trim" you are refering to came on a lower Priced base 289 car?
Hard to say, but let me know what "trim" you are talking about.

He's talking about the trim on the fenders are for a Galaxie 500 not an XL.
XL has Galaxie and then 500XL on a rectangle section on it. The steering wheel center isn't XL either. Should be silver with XL in the center.
Like this.
Still a nice looking car, hope you found or find a buyer for her.
Finding good XL fender trim isn't that easy and not a big deal if someone wanted to change it later. Same with the horn ring. Neither is that big of a deal and can be changed. The code is correct for XL.
Good luck! It deserves a nice home.

Re: 1964 XL 500 Galaxie $4,000 IDAHO
FINALLY! A nice car at a DECENT price!
Now THIS car is what I'm talking about guy's! $4K nd that's EXACTLY what you get, a good driver with no issues.
ANY car out of the east coast or midwest like this and the idiot is asking $7,500 just to look at it.
THis is a nice car wether it was a 289 Galaxie, or a 390 XL 500...

Idaho isn't like NJ, you should get it. You need a '64 galaxie gary! Everyone does! But I'm partial.
Wonder if it's sold yet or not?
