FS: 1986 ascMclaren Roadster...very rare

I am selling a very rare (1 of 245 made) 1986 ascMclaren Roadster.
The base car is a 1986 Mercury Capri RS hatchback (similar to the Fox-body Mustang) that has been modified by ascMclaren into a two seat roadster.

You can, with this car, have the rarity but all the drive train components are standard Ford/Mercury fox-body components!! IT is truly the best of both worlds. It is currently 100% stock with a 5.0, Fuel Injection, AOD automatic transmission. It is a white car with the dark blue Recaro interior (a $1730 option in 1986). It is all original and a ready to go driver.
It needs nothing to be driven, but if you want to show it, I'd consider color sanding the paint (it spent some time in Texas in it's lifetime and received the typical Texas paint chips from the roadside gravel they have down there), a couple of stitches in the very comfortable and supportive Recaro seats (they actually have speakers in the headrests), and the radio simply doesn't work worth a damn. Tires are ok to drive, I'd replace them. Wheels are original (hard to find) and I'd polish the bare metal.
The car is ready to go, $6000 obo cash and carry. This is a much rarer car than the McLarens based on the Mustangs, and if you recall...Capri never made a convertible...just the ascMclarens. The only reason ascMclaren changed to Mustangs is that the Capri last year of production was 1986. These are very desirable and affordable exotic automobiles.

Been to any car shows recently? How many Shelby’s are there? Saleens? The odds are very much in your favor that you’ll be the only ascMclaren in attendance. If you don’t want to show it, then just drive it and enjoy the car as a good handling convertible
Take the winter to cherry this one out, and enjoy next summer with the brand new top lowered, looking through the brand new windshield, and enjoy the car.

I am really not interested in any trades unless you have a cherry 68 Cougar XR7.
