Wanted: Info

iam a a guy from holland, building a 302 in a capri '69. the problem about europe is there are not that many Usa cars.. to get good info is hard, i spend a lot of time searching for what part i can use best. the answer is, nobody realy knows what to use. i got a lot of help from some dragracers here, but aint good enough.

the problem is about what gearbox i can use best. i know one thing for sure, it have to be a manual gearbox, thats the capri spirit. i am not going to build a 1000 hp car, so dont need 'best' parts. i think iam going to change te 302 for a 351, but not for the first year(s?). Not charched, no stroker kits, for now. what strong box isnt hard to get in usa? and what prices normaly paid.. or what is used most for self-build projects?

last year i went to usa, visit NY and my brother at burlington. It was verry impressive (specialy the junkyard man what a lot of old v8's) and comming back, hopefully i can get back with parts then .

The most available manual shift transmission here in the US is the T5 (5 speed). The later year Fox Body (89-92) are I believe the strongest models. I'm no expert on this subject, so hopefully someone will come up with some Part Numbers or other data for you.

T5 5 speed from a 89-92 5.0 Mustang. A 351 bell housing would be needed.

302 and 351 use the same bell,I have some T-5's but won't ship to Europe, thanks Bruce.
