It seems rare these days to hear good news. However, the crew at Mecum Auctions has some great news. They announced that a rare, special, and unique Shelby Mustang will be crossing the stage at this year’s Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, auction this week on August 3-5
More than 1,000 vehicles are said to cross that aforementioned stage, and this 1968 Shelby GT500 is being offered to anyone with no reserve. Yes, you read that correctly – a numbers-matching, fully restored, classic Shelby Mustang is being offered at auction with no minimum when it comes to price. How cool is that?
According to the Shelby American Automobile Club, only 1,020 Shelby GT500 fastbacks were produced in 1968, and this example is number 366. Every single model was built during a nine-month period from November of 1967 through July of 1968, and this Shelby finished in its mostly original Candy Apple Red hue features a numbers-matching 428-cubic-inch V8 and a matching four-speed manual transmission.
If you’re in the market for a classic Shelby GT500, this is probably the one you’ll want to watch out for. As we mentioned earlier, it’s being offered this week at the 2017 Mecum Auction in Harrisburg. Checkout the original listing here for more details.
