Swapping a manual transmission into an automatic-equipped Fox Mustang is no easy task, but the folks at Silver Sport Transmissions out of Rockford, Tennessee, have made that endeavor much easier, thanks to new components available like its Ford Fox Body Pedal Set. The kit, which is available for virtually every Fox-chassis F0rd, consists of a remanufactured pedal set used specifically for automatic-to-manual conversions.
SST says these kits are remanufactured in-house at its Rockford location, and utilize the following all-new components: clutch arm, pedal start, pedal pads, bushings, clutch adjuster assembly, and a new clutch pedal safety switch. The company also says that these kits are available to use when converting from an automatic transmission to a manual, using a Tremec T-5, TKO, T-56 or Magnum transmissions, which use a cable clutch.
The obvious benefit of these pedals is that enthusiasts can rely on SST, which remanufactures OEM equipment in-house with all new components. This saves us time and money having to search through various local junkyards, only to come back empty-handed or with well-worn parts. While this pedal assembly from SST is certainly convenient, enthusiasts will also receive a $50 refund upon receiving your automatic pedal core – so it’s a win for everyone.
The SST pedal assembly is available for the following Fox chassis cars: 1979-1993 Ford Mustang/Mercury Capri, 1977-1983 Ford Fairmont/Lincoln Zephyr, 1979-1988 Ford Thunderbird/Mercury Cougar, and the 1983-1992 Lincoln Mark VII.
