Score A 1970 Boss 302 Mustang For $25,000?

For anyone on the hunt for an iconic classic Mustang, then it would be worthwhile to spend a few minutes checking out this eBay listing for a 1970 Boss 302. According to the listing, the car appears to a survivor with most of the original exterior still intact along with the factory paint.

Unfortunately, the original engine was removed and a 428 Cobra Jet engine was installed during the 1980s. Although the car is listed as a four-speed car, it appears that this Mustang was switched over to automatic at some point in time. As it sits, the car is a blank canvas in regard to the drivetrain leaving the new owner with plenty of options for personalization or restoration.

In it is original condition the Boss was equipped with a 302 engine, a four-speed transmission, and 3:50 gears. Along with the factory performance items, this car features the deluxe interior, rear spoiler, and tach.

Based on the information and pictures available, this car is a great candidate for restoration despite the age. The seller states that the Shaker hood and right fender have been replaced with what appear to be factory parts. Other than some damage to the engine compartment from the 428 swap, the rest of the body is in good shape and ready for reconditioning.

After 30-years of sitting in storage, this Mustang is awaiting a new home and a chance to hit the streets once again. Fortunately, this car spent its days in California and has avoided much of the damage caused by the elements. The seller has the title along with the blue California license plate from 1978 to accompany the Marti report for the new owner.
