The term “sleeper” has been used by car guys for decades to describe a car that looks slow, but is actually packing some serious horsepower. Not even on its best day could a Ford Mustang ever be described as a sleeper, among car guys the potential of any Mustang is well known. Today even the lowly V6 base models put down power that trumps the GTs of just a decade ago.
So perhaps TruFiber’s “Stealth” Shelby GT500 refers to its fighter jet-like looks, rather than its actual road presence, because driving past this beastly Shelby, there’s no way not to notice it.
TruFiber is a world-class seller of many carbon fiber products, and the Stealth GT500 wears several of these pricey bits, including a bare carbon fiber hood that is stunningly gorgeous in its simplicity. Also added was a carbon fiber front diffuser, and TruFiber saw fit to black add the headlights as well. The coupe de grace is a set of black wheels, completing the stealth look.
Under the hood, well-enough was left alone, because with 662 horsepower on tap, what more do you really need? This Mustang is just about as menacing as they come, though it’s sure not to fit to everybody’s standard of stealth. Sometimes, less is more with a car like the Mustang, and few take issue with the 2013-14 Shelby GT500 as-is.
What say you? Is TriFuber’s Stealth Shelby GT500 overdone, or just right?
