The crew at Aeromotive keeps making the muscle car and performance market even sweeter. Constantly innovating and developing new products to fit the needs of a wide range of enthusiasts.
We’ve discussed many Aeromotive products in the past, and we’ve put them to the test on the street, and the track. Their latest innovation has been a longtime in the works, and offers a solution that many enthusiasts have been pining for over the years.
Aeromotive’s new Stealth 325 fuel pump is similar in design and materials to their popular Stealth 340 fuel pump. Featuring a compact 65mm body, this pump is designed to fit in a wide variety of OEM fuel hanger assemblies, including 1999-2004, and 2004-2014 Mustang GT and V6 models.
In 1999 Ford switched the Mustang to a returnless style fuel system, switching from the wide on constant voltage system that had been used since 1986, to a pulse-width modulated design. This PWM system made the pump quieter, and increased it’s life, however it proved a challenge for tuners and enthusiasts alike, who could no longer simply swap a fuel pump or up the pressure at the regulator to add the fuel required once power exceeded a certain level. Most pumps that were on the market at the time would not work with the OEM PWM system.
Since the Stealth 325 is compatible with PWM systems, this allows owners of modified Mustangs, especially those with forced induction to run a single in-tank pump. Replacing the pump is simply a matter of dropping the tank in older Mustangs, or gaining access under the rear seat in the newer S197 platform cars. In an hour or less most enthusiasts can have a fuel system that will support significantly more horsepower than the factory equipment.
The Stealth 325 flows 325 liters per hour at 40 psi of pressure. It can work with factory or aftermarket pulse-width modulation, will fit a variety of OEM hangers, and is designed for in-tank use. This pump is also compatible with carbs or fuel injection. For a full list of applications check out the Stealth 325 page on the Aeromotive web-site.
