Dave Zimmerman and our friends over at Team Z Motorsports are on the cutting edge of stock-suspension research and development, and they are proud to announce the release of their brand-new 2-inch drop spindles suited for use with their Outlaw K-member design.
The drop spindles are completely fabricated in-house at Team Z’s Taylor, Michigan facility and are designed to allow racers to get optimum suspension geometry.
Zimmerman explains, “With our Outlaw K-member, to get the Ackerman and the rest of the steering dimensions correct, we needed to build an extended-arm spindle to work properly.”
“There were some compromises with existing pieces on the market and we wanted to correct those. Now that we have the jig set up, within the next month or so we’ll be able to produce a drop spindle for a non-Stiletto-style K-member as well. We just bought a water-jet machine that will allow us to work much more quickly to prototype new parts like this. I’ll be able to get parts from my mind to a car in 1/10th the time.”
Team Z’s line of stock-suspension replacement parts have taken the Mustang street and drag racing world by storm over the last several years, as Zimmerman spends countless hours at the track learning and refining the products his company produces. Each part is developed and constructed in-house by their team of craftsmen. Their parts and chassis-building expertise has been put to the test on some of the quickest and fastest Mustangs in the world, like those of Brad Edwards, Chris Tuten, and Trace Meyer.
