Corsa Performance Exhaust System Installation
All of Corsa's exhaust systems are made for the DIY enthusiast. The systems are well engineered and include color instructions and every required item to do the install in your driveway. We however were too lazy and sought out the expertise (and vehicle lift) at Mel & Sons Mufflers in San Pablo, CA. Most shops will install a system like this for under $175. We had them weld up certain joints however the supplied TORCA clamps are just as fine so long as you follow the torque and position instructions.

This is the Corsa Performance Sport Exhaust system for the new F-150. The kit comes in single side exit or dual rear-exit (PN: 14372) as we opted for. A variety of tip choices are available, we chose the twin 3.5" assembly.

Corsa systems are not cheap by any means. But at $700-900 a system you get 100% 304 grade stainless steel front to back. It goes without saying this is all mandrel bent piping. Two sound choices are available, the Sport mufflers is aggressive and the Touring is a bit milder. We went all out, listen to the Sport kit for yourself in the sidebar on page 1.

A look into the Corsa Sport muffler shows a straight thru pipe. The quarter-size openings for the sound waves are also visible at each end.

F150 exhaust systems have had the same layout for decades. However on the new F150 the catalytic converters and 2.5" Y pipe are pretty high-flow. The restriction is downstream at the muffler.

Corsa exhaust kits come with OEM Style TORCA clamps and fabricated hangers for the dual pipes under the bumper. Unlike conventional clamps these don't slip or flare out the pipe when properly torqued to 45 ft.-lbs.

The guys at Mel & Sons in San Pablo, CA did the dirty work for us. Standard exhaust system installation principles apply here. Get the factory muffler and pipes out and get the new parts in. Save the hangers they'll be reused.

The Corsa muffler gets positioned such that the condensation weep hole is at the rear and facing down. As with any exhaust kit get everything loosely assembled and lined up before clamping or welding.

One the rear-exit systems Corsa has developed this ingenious bracket to hang the pipes. The bracket simply mounts under the upper bolt on the leaf-spring shackle.

Feed the dual pipes over the axle and into the Y split adapter at the rear of the muffler. Note that the pipes will be in a stacked position in this system, not side by side as is often seen in a dual-out muffler.

Use the supplied zip-tie to secure the axle-vent tube from possible contact with the driver-side over-axle pipe. Corsa instructs to move the tube behind the brake lines, however we found that just tying it back provided sufficient clearance.

A look at how the Corsa system fits under the F150 before we drop the vehicle down. It's a shame all this stainless steel will be out of sight!

All the guys at Mel & Sons take pride in their work, so it is imperative the tips line up perfectly. Along with the Corsa sound the quad tips are the distinctive indicator that this F150 is not stock.
