Getting more air to your engine is part of the equation in making more horsepower. AIRAID was showing off their cold air intake systems for 11-14 Dodge Challenger and Chargers, equipped with the 3.6 V6 and 5.7 and 6.4 liter HEMI engine.
Both of these system utilize the same Roto-Molded air box. The design pulls in fresh cool air from the outside, and is shielded from bring in hotter and often more turbulent air from the engine compartment.
These systems include all of the necessary hardware to install in less than 30 minutes by just about any enthusiast who can swing a wrench. Provisions are included for sensors and tubes as needed. No tuning or cutting is required, although drilling does need to be performed as part of the installation.
MIT Tubes
The really nice thing about the MIT tube for Camaro and Mustang is that they already carry a CARB certification number making them SMOG legal.
“The really nice thing about the MIT tube for Camaro and Mustang is that they already carry a CARB certification number making them SMOG legal,” says McGee . The tube can be combined with one of AIRAID’s drop-in replacement filters as well to create what McGee calls an AIRAID Jr system.
These tubes are larger in diameter for better airflow, require no tuning, and can help support other modifications. These also include all the provisions for the factory sensors and tubes. “it’s an easy and inexpensive way to upgrade the performance on your car,” says McGee.
