Last April we first announced that Chevrolet was bringing back the COPO program for the 5th Gen Camaro, and things have moved quickly over the last 15 months. By November, Chevy was showing off the first COPO Camaro Concept at SEMA, and by December they were posting videos of the concept tearing it up at Bradenton. Finally, in March of this year Chevy announced that the COPO concept was moving from mere concept to production.
Now, just six short months later, we’ve received news from Chevy Performance that the first 4 COPOs are out the door and headed to their owners. COPO Camaros number 3,5,7 and 9 rolled out on their Hoosiers for the very first time, and left the Assembly Facility to be loaded on the truck for transport to their lucky new owners.
The news of the first COPOs shipping out comes just a few weeks after Chevy Performance announced that the first 18 cars passed the NHRA Chassis Certification. For more info and the latest updates, check out the COPO Forum on The Block.
