If you’ve been following the saga of the 2019 Mustang Bullitt, you know this 480-horsepower specialty ’Stang is built with the driver in mind. “When making a Bullitt, there are certain things it absolutely must have,” Carl Widmann, Mustang chief engineer, said when the car was revealed. “It has to have the right attitude, it has to be unique in some way from a Mustang GT, and more than anything, it has to be bad ass.”

A bad-ass ride like the latest Bullitt just begs to be driven on a bad-ass road, and Ford of Europe added another notch to is bucket list of Europe’s Greatest Driving Roads by taking the Steve McQueen-inspired stallion to the infamous Isle of Man, which hosts an annual motorcycle festival that sees top rides blasting around the ‘Mountain Course.’

On the Isle, speed limits are unrestricted, but laws still limit complete on-road anarchy. This allowed writer Steve Sutcliffe to really stretch the legs of this special-edition pony car.

“Imagine German autobahns, then add hills and twists, and shrink it to a single carriageway with incredible views, and what you have are these utterly fantastic, and dramatic, roads,” Steve said. “The Mountain Road feels — and is — an utterly dramatic place to drive. It’s epic, and quite unlike anywhere else.”

In this ninth installment of the series documenting roads we dream of driving on, Steve ascends the mountain at speed where he takes in vides of all four countries — England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland — encompassing the United Kingdom.

“The food and drink is excellent, pretty much everywhere on the island,” Steve added. “You may go there for the exhilaration of driving one of Europe’s most notorious roads, but it’s the people, the food and the scenery that will compound your sadness to be getting the ferry home.”

Throughout this series the roads received ratings based on thrill factor, roadside food, and road surfaces. The Isle’s Mountain Road clocked the highest score yet in the series, and it definitely looks like a blast in the video above.
