Sneak Up With Aeromotive’s Gen II Stealth Tank

This drop-in replacement unit from Aeromotive Inc. is more than meets the eye. The Gen II Stealth Tank is purpose-built for performance.

Are you having starvation issues at the track, autocross event, or even under hard street driving? We aren’t talking about that rumbling you feel around lunchtime or the dive in energy you’re hit with when you can’t find the snack bar fast enough. We’re talking about another kind of starvation. The kind your fuel pump faces when you’re running the stock fuel system in your street machine. It can become  a real problem, and even cause catastrophic failure in some cases, if you’re car is sloshing fuel back and forth in the tank and not feeding the pump consistently. The last thing you want, is to have your day at the track ruined because of a burnt up fuel pump.

The newly designed Gen II Stealth Tank from Aeromotive addresses this issue with their patented and award-winning phantom technology. This system has been developed specifically to combat fuel starvation and precisely control fuel around the high flow pump. As you can see in the cross-sectioned photo below, the phantom baffle around the pump not only provides ample fuel by keeping the foam around the pump soaked, but it also keeps things quiet. Hence the name, “Phantom.” That means no more annoying buzzing from your fuel pump.

This cross section of the Gen II Stealth Tank shows how Aeromotive Inc.’s patented Phantom technology keeps things moving even under low fuel conditions.

As an added bonus, the Gen II Stealth Tank doesn’t require any modification to the existing straps, or mounting location. It drops in just as a stock tank would, minus the antiquated performance. The fuel pump, baffle, and fuel sending unit are all preinstalled and plumbed to a billet end cap in the factory outlet location. With such convenience wrapped up in one package, it’s a breeze to plumb for even the most amateur hobbyist. Installation is as easy as just dropping the tank in the stock location, plumbing the fuel lines, and supplying power to the pump. Aeromotive Inc. claims they will have Gen II tanks for eight different years, makes, and models by the end of July, and 30 more by the end of the year.

The OEM-style tank install is a snap, with simple plumbing and wiring.

If you’re worried about how much flow they can handle, fear not. They are available with two pump sizes. A 200/LPH model, starting below the 500 dollar mark, and a 340/LPH model that certainly won’t break the bank. So, check out aeromotiveinc.com and find out more about the Gen II Stealth Tank that fits your ride. When all the other cars on the track are starving in the corners, you and your wheels will be well fed. Below is a list of the tanks slated for release in the coming months, so you can stay ahead of the curve.
