Procar Seats by SCAT: Affordable and Comfortable Seating Solution

If you have ever been to the Procar seat website, you know that “sensible styling” is the brand’s slogan. Blending contemporary styling with classic design cues, these seats by Scat Enterprise creations are the premier aftermarket alternative to import automotive seating.

As their website boasts, “Procar seats won’t bust the budget on your restoration project,” and they mean it too. Surprisingly affordable, and super stylish, Procar seats are highly revered for their easy installation when paired with the brand’s custom mounting brackets, which only run $30 a set and bolt into over 3,000 applications.

Featuring an all-steel, TIG-welded frame that has been electrostatically coated for strength and durability, Procar seats pack premium grade fabrics and stitching in order to tolerate decades of abuse. As for the cushions themselves, each seat is ergonomically shaped with high-density, injection-molded foam in order to ensure both comfort and support.

All told, we counted 22 adjustable options and 6 fixed-back aftermarket seat offerings on the Procar website, as well as some really cool office chair products. From drag-oriented buckets and heavily bolstered drift seats to retro-inspired leather recliners and cushy, diamond-quilted cruising cushions, there’s pretty much something for every build over at Procar seats.

A few notable standouts include the fixed “Pro-Sport 1790 Series” seat, which can accommodate a five-point harness and comes with sliders and TIG-welded steel tubing. Starting at just $166, and featuring a 20-pound curb weight, injection-molded foam, and ample padding, this seat is a great alternative to some of the more pricey European options found on the market today. As with most Procar products, this seat can be used as either a driver or passenger seating option or both.

Another fun one we found was the “Procar Bomber,” a 16-pound, $184 aftermarket option that the company claims is “the perfect seat for your off-road buggy.”While we would likely strap this guy into any number of LS-powered classics, we can see why offering the Bomber in either a vinyl or UV-protected, water-resistant canvas would appeal to off-road enthusiasts. As with other fixed-back Procar seats, the Bomber will accommodate a 5-point harness, comes with suspension straps for superior ride comfort, and can be used in both driver and passenger locations.

Meanwhile, over in the recliner section of the Procar website, we discovered a plethora of kick-ass seating alternatives, starting with the “Rally Smoothback.” Borrowing heavily from the regular Rally edition, the Smoothback takes a “two-tone” approach to seating, with the lower portion packing lines, stopping halfway up the back in order to provide a smooth top half. Based upon Procar’s most popular seat, the Rally Smoothback retains all of the original seat’s substantial side bolstering, and is available in eight different colors. Buyers can purchase these seats with or without a headrest, and can opt for a UV-protected, waterproof canvas material as well.

For those needing more space, there is “The Sportsman Pro XL,” Procar’s extra-wide version of the Sportsman Pro, which features a wider seat bottom. Like the regular version, the Sportsman Pro XL will accommodate a 5-point harness and can be used in both driver and passenger cabin locations. Weighing in at just 26-pounds, and offering a full 16-inches of width for your rump, the Sportsman Pro XL features a full 2-inch increase in seating width over the regular version, all for the modest price increase of $13 before taxes.
