Motovicity Announces Ticket To Ride Contest Winners

Motovicity is one of the largest distributors of aftermarket, and performance parts in the USA. Back in August, we filled you in on all the details of their Ticket To Ride contest. However, if you’re still not familiar with it, essentially through purchases of parts from specific manufacturers, shops were given entries into the Ticket To Ride contest. Two shops were chosen as winners, and each received a hot new car for modification, along with a pallet full of parts to do the job.

The winners have been announced, the Scion FR-S went to SpeedForSale in Alpharetta, Georgia. SpeedForSale specializes in niche performance and sports cars, and not only repairs and modifies them, but also brokers and sells these cars as well. With over a decade of experience in tuning and high performance builds, it should be interesting to see what the SpeedForSale crew can do with the Scion FR-S. “We’ve been in the Supra/GT-R market for some time, so to see what we can do with some of the brands that we sell and install—HKS, StopTech, Eibach, among them—is a good thing,” says SpeedForSale founder Jeremy Blackwell.

The 2013 Mustang GT went to Performance and Styling in Manchester, Connecticut, a shop with a high level of expertise in fabrication work, and tuning, as well as high performance installations. “I think this is great for the (performance) companies to see these parts on the car, to see them installed and how they perform,” said John Malapetsas, owner of Performance and Styling.

Once the builds are completed, the two cars will be sent cross-country to Irwindale Speedway in California. There the two will face off with professional drivers behind the wheel on a course designed by MotoIQ. It’s then that we’ll find out which car was the better platform for modification, and who did the best job with the parts given.

The shootout will be well documented, and when the video is available we’ll be sure to bring you the action and the results. Until then just imagine what these two shops will be doing with a pallet full of parts from EM, BBK, Eibach, Energy Suspension, Exedy, Gates RPM, HKS, KW, Royal Purple, Sparco, Stack, StopTech, Vibrant and Whiteline. We can’t wait to see the results.
