2018 Shelby GT350 Enrollment
This leaked dealer document hit the forum scene today and indicates that dealers have until February 27, 2017 to fill out the paperwork that will earn them the ability to sell the top-shelf Mustang for 2018.Though it has yet to be officially confirmed as continuing beyond the 2017 model year, it appears that the Shelby GT350 will return for 2018. According to documents sent to Ford dealers today, those interested in selling the 2018 Shelby can enroll in the certification program for the car.
What’s interesting is that we expect to see a refreshed Mustang in the next model year, but the dealer documents leaked on a popular forum indicate that the car will be pretty much the same as the 2017 version.
“The only changes to the 2018 Shelby GT350/GT350R will be exterior colors,” says the dealer enrollment document. “All other functional, exterior and interior content will be carryover from 2017MY. Final color lineup will be announced at a later date.”
So, does this mean the long-rumored Mustang refresh has been delayed? It seems highly unlikely that the GT350 would remain the same while the base car gets a fresh look…
Time will tell, but either way, the good news is that the Shelby GT350 will be back for another model year run. So, if you haven’t been lucky enough to score one yet, you’ll have another crack at it.
