You know when you drive in the Racer Gate and there are race rigs parked where there are normally Swap Meet vendors, something is up. Then you drive by the scales, and there are race trailers pitted on either side of the scales. Yeah, the track was packed in Commerce, Georgia, for the NMRA/NMCA All Star Nationals, and we were in for a great weekend of racing.
The weather ranged from chilly to wet, but the track crew did a fantastic job providing a sticky racing surface for the entire combined event, which included a handful of special ‘All-Star’ classes.
In the end, winners were crowned, racers collected payouts, and happy fans saw some terrific action, too. The NMCA’s Pro Mods stole the thunder, knocking off mid-3-second eighth-mile passes, but the NMRA classes brought the wheelstands, close competition, and excitement to the Peach State.
With any luck you watched our live coverage on SpeedVideo, but if not, you can re-live the action here. Whether you saw it live or not, be sure to check out the gallery below and see what you missed.
The next stop on the NMRA tour is Maple Grove Raceway for the Motorsports Nationals, which will run from May 3-6, 2018.
