Fred Moucatel of Plainsboro, New Jersey has a 2008 Mustang S197 that is slithering up the ranks and biting the competition. With more than twenty awards since first showing in May of 2012 and winning a trophy in nearly every show this 2013 season, Moucatel’s stang dubbed “Venom” is leaving a poison trail of defeated competitors.
“For me, the car scene started when I was born. My father collected and restored all examples of Ford muscle cars. My first two cars were a 1965 Falcon and a 1971 Maverick. From there, I moved on to Fox Body Mustangs and rebuilt a 1982 GT from the ground up. My newest is my 2008 Mustang S197 which I named “Venom” due to Ford’s long time mascot being a cobra. I wanted to keep the Mustang heritage alive in my car and since a cobra is venomous, I thought it was a good fit”, says Moucatel.
Moucatel’s 2008 GT is sleek, powerful, and dangerous. Modifications include Pypes Violator exhaust, UPR Blue Thunder shifter, 4.10 gears, cross drilled brake rotars, EBC brake pads, STEEDA cold air intake and delete plates, BBK underdrive pulleys, 62 mm throttle body, Accel super coils, NGK iridium plugs, Brenspeed tune, Stack Racing tower brace, BBK chrome plenum cover, Ford Racing etched blue valve covers, UPR polished radiator cover, “Venom” custom pin stripes and rocker stripes, UPR trick shift handle with UPR billet GT knob, custom Ford Mustang headrest inlays, carbon fiber console door, Raxiom smoked tail lights with sequential upgrade, billet front grilles, CDC front aggressive spoiler, Halo driving lights with upgraded Hyper white bulbs, and a hand built trunk panel with remote controlled backlit LEDs.
Moucatel’s “Venom” has more than just a bite. It also has the looks to draw in any competitor. If you ever get the chance to meet Moucatel at a show, ask him to give you a peek under the hood. Take a look but don’t touch. And if you decide to compete against “Venom”, you may leave with a bitter taste of poison in your mouth.
