2015 Mustang Options List Revealed By Mustang6g

Thanks to our good friends over at Mustang6g, we now have more information than ever about options and packages available for all levels of the highly anticipated 2015 Mustang, across all models. This includes the base V6, the 2.3 EcoBoost, and the 5.0 GT. Ford still hasn’t pulled the wraps off of anything Shelby or SVT related yet, and we can see that at least here there are no options listed for Shelby or SVT packages.

Some of the more interesting notes. The performance package is available on the EcoBoost and GT models only. There will be no V6 performance package for 2015. While the V6 base will likely be sold en masse to rental fleets, we’d imagine that Ford will be pushing the EcoBoost and GT models to buyers in the showroom.

The GT and the EcoBoost get the same wheels in the Performance Package. Both also delete the spare tire. While we imagine this saves weight, it probably has more to do with the fact that there’s not a mini-spare out there that will fit around the massive brakes this package will come equipped with.

EcoBoost owners will get an upgrade to 3.55 rear gears when the performance package is selected over the standard 3.31 manual, or 3.15 with an automatic Other EcoBoost performance pack upgrades include:

  • Bigger rear sway bar.
  • Unique chassis tuning.
  • Larger brake rotors with 4-piston calipers (no diameter listed).
  • 19×9 high gloss black painted aluminum wheels. (different than GT Performance package wheels)
  • 255/40/19 Summer Tires
  • Unique EPAS, ABS, and Stability Control tuning.
  • Aluminum dash panel.
  • Gauge pack with oil pressure and boost.
  • 3.55 gears.
  • Larger radiator.
  • Heavy duty front springs.
  • Spoiler delete.

For the GT it’s interesting to note that the performance package will be offered with a manual transmission only. 3.73 gears also make their way back to this package. The rest of the add ons for the performance pack include:

  • Strut tower brace.
  • Larger radiator.
  • Unique chassis tuning.
  • Larger rear sway bar.
  • Heavy duty front springs.
  • Gauge pack with oil pressure and vacuum.
  • Brembo 6-piston front calipers with larger diameter rotors.
  • 19×9 Front and 19×9.5 rear high gloss black aluminum wheels.
  • 255/40 front and 275/40/19 rear summer only tires.
  • Unique stability control, EPAS, and ABS tuning.
  • Spoiler Delete.
  • 3.73 rear gearing and TORSEN differential.

Some other interesting notes in the options list. Did you catch the staggered sizing for the GT performance pack? It’s not as much of a stagger as many enthusiasts go with, but a nice step in the right direction. Recaro seats also make the options list in cloth or leather as options 883 or 88S. The wheels for the GT and EcoBoost performance package are different. We also wonder will the EcoBoost performance package brakes, be an upgrade to standard GT brakes or something different. Careful examination shows the GT comes standard with four-pistion brakes, which are listed as larger diameter.

50th Anniversary package specifics are also outlined here. Perhaps the most interesting note is that it appears the 50th anniversary wheels will only be available with that package. It will be interesting to see how quickly the aftermarket comes up with replicas, or if Ford even offers them through the Ford Racing catalog. As we had covered before the 50th model is based on the GT Performance Package, and comes with all of it’s features.

There’s more details to pour over and analyze than we can list in a single story, so be sure to head over to Mustang6g and check out the full set of information sheets.
