The 2015 Mustang is the most anticipated new car coming this year. We’ve been waiting since it’s official public unveiling in December to find out when we can drive one and when they’ll be hitting the streets. We may finally have a few of those answers.
According to the guys over at Mustang6g, the 2015 is scheduled for its Job 1 build in just four days on July 14, 2014. The first batch of cars will be held and checked for problems as well as tested. Several of these cars will also go to executives at the Blue Oval.
The information posted over at Mustang6g says that Tuesday September 10 is the ok to buy date. According to Mustnag6g this means that dealers will have the ok to begin selling stock inventory. Special orders on this date will then begin production. According to the post at Mustang6g this is to limit any glitches on special order vehicles. The 2015 Mustang convertible wont’ begin production until September 15. Its ok to buy date is not slated until October 27.
Still no word yet on when we’ll have a chance along with anyone else in the media to drive a 2015 Mustang. We had hoped that we’d get into an early production model sometime late in July, or early August, but we still haven’t heard anything from Ford officially. We saw some posts that indicate Ford won’t be scheduling test drives until sometime in the fourth quarter of 2014. That would potentially mean that customers may have cars on the street before we ever get a chance behind the wheel. We’ll keep you posted, and rest assured as soon as we get behind the wheel of a 2015 Mustang we’ll post our evaluation here before anyone else can.
