As our friends at Mustang6G.com pointed out, the debut of the all-new 2017 Shelby GTE post-title package was only less than a month ago – but the first production 2017 model has already been sold at auction during one of Barrett-Jackson’s Las Vegas events.
Sporting its official Shelby American CSM 17GTE0002 plaque, this exceptional GTE features a few key revisions that won’t be shared with the future GTE models produced. For example, a custom charcoal carbon-fiber stripe package, and a Platinum White Metallic powder-coated Kenne Bell twin-screw supercharger to match the car, were added into the mix.
Some of the additional components which were optional included a gauge pod for the supercharger, an aluminum coolant tank, and a carbon-fiber front splitter. In conjunction with the aforementioned supercharger and exterior upgrades, we think it’s safe to say, you’ll probably never see another Shelby GTE like this one.
Speaking of the GTE, this distinct example sold in the auction above for charity at an exceptional $150,000 – which all of the proceeds being donated to benefit the Grant A Gift Autism Foundation. Located in Las Vegas, Nevada, and founded in 2009, this non-profit 501(C)(3) organization helps children, youth, and their families fight Autism by helping to provide treatment and diagnostic funding – along with many other services.
