Car show season is in full swing and there’s one show that must to be marked on the calendar – Carlisle Ford Nationals in none other than Carlisle, PA. From June 5-7, bring the family out for an awesome time surrounded by fantastic Ford vehicles, fellow Ford enthusiasts, and for an up close and personal look at some of Ford’s hottest new vehicle lineup.
That’s right, the all-new Shelby GT350, Shelby GT350R, and all-wheel-drive Focus RS will be in attendance this year at Carlisle. The Focus RS, a manual six-speed hatchback capable of 300 horsepower out of a turbocharged 2.3L EcoBoost engine, has been mostly sold in Europe in the past, but is finally making its way onto American roads.
While attending Carlisle, there is a possibility to get behind the wheel of some of your favorite Ford vehicles. Also, historic Ford vehicles will be onsite for your viewing pleasure, and a burnout competition will take place for anybody interested in some good old fashioned tire roasting.
Searching for that Ford Performance part will be a piece of cake with Ford Racing Garage’s exclusive event rate and Ford technicians available to install it professionally on the spot. Check out Manufacturer’s Midway for parts for that Fiesta, Focus, Mustang or any other Ford-powered vehicle.
“Carlisle Ford Nationals is an amazing event that offers something for every level of Ford enthusiast,” said Steve Ling, Ford car marketing manager. “We’re especially excited to share the new Shelby GT350 with our fans at this year’s event. This car has been 50 years in the making – wrapping sophisticated engineering into an iconic body that’s sure to be a huge hit.”
With the 50th anniversary of the Shelby GT350 upon us, it only makes sense to have these all-new Shelby vehicles at the event. In 1965, the Shelby GT350 proved itself at Green Valley Raceway after a winning streak. After that, three continuous championships were won in 1965, 1966, and 1967 with countless races ending in victory during the Sports Car Club America circuit.
“The Carlisle Ford Nationals will give Ford and Shelby fans an up-close look at our Shelby GT350 and Shelby GT350R models,” said Jim Owens, Shelby GT350 marketing manager. “These cars are true to the balanced performance Carroll Shelby engineered into every car he built. I have no doubt Ford Mustang and Shelby fans at the Carlisle Ford Nationals will find these cars to be among their favorites at the show.”
