It has become increasingly difficult to locate a clean Fox body Mustang these days. Rust free examples are nearly nonexistent, and finding a virgin car that’s not been hacked often also proves difficult. Clean examples, even modified ones are like unicorns, which makes this recent eBay find so cool.
Being sold by Jabaay Motors in Illinois this 1989 LX hatchback is like a time machine from the Fox body craze of the late 1990s. Equipped with a Kenne Bell supercharger, cold air intake, and manual transmission, this LX is surely a fun ride. Chrome Cobra R rims with Sumitomo tires and a Cervini ram air hood accent the car’s exterior. The only note on the suspension is that it’s “Full BBK” and we noticed the company’s caster/camber plates in the under hood shots. We have to wonder what else the car is equipped with.
The seller is claiming only 43,000 miles on this car, which the exterior and interior condition of the car seem to confirm. We noticed that the AC has been removed from the car, although it’s not mentioned in the listing. We’re also not sure what the switch under the factory radio is for, as the photos aren’t clear enough for us to read the cover.
Well preserved and beautiful, we’d love to know what kind of power this supercharged stock 5.0 is making. The seller is claiming the car has $14,000 in modifications, although we have no way to confirm that, we’re only seeing about half that amount in what’s visible in the photos. As we write this the current bid is $4,350, a far cry from the $13,900 reserve with just two days left to go in the auction. We wonder what would you pay for this 5.0?
