Heritage Edition Ford GT Celebrates 1967 Le Mans Winner

The ’67 Heritage Edition 2018 Ford GT wears a Race Red paint scheme with a Frozen White livery that harkens back to the 1967 Le Mans winner driven by Dan Gurney and A.J. Foyt.

Ford GTs are already rare machines, but for prospective owners with an appreciation of Blue Oval history, Ford is offering something special. In celebration of the GT40 Mark IV race car that Dan Gurney and A.J. Foyt drove to victory back in 1967, Ford is releasing a ’67 Heritage Edition of the 2018 Ford GT. It features several unique styling cues that harken back to the race winner.

“The first Heritage edition car was a huge success, honoring our history with a modern interpretation of the Le Mans winner,” Garen Nicoghosian, exterior design manager of the Ford GT, said. “Continuing with a 2018 Ford GT based on the winning GT40 Mark IV race car was simply something we needed to do.”

Sprayed in Race Red, the ’67 Heritage Edition sports a Frozen White livery, including Number 1 graphics on the hood and doors. This edition also features wheels with a unique, clear-coated satin silver finish accented by black lug nuts. The theme continues with red brake calipers and silver mirror caps.

Besides the unique livery, this Heritage edition Ford GT rides on unique satin silver wheels and its interior wears unique red stitching and carbon fiber accents.

Ford GT ’67 Heritage Features

• 20-inch, one-piece forged aluminum wheels in silver satin

• Anodized gray paddles shifters

• Frozen White No. 1 hood and door graphics

• Leather trim with red accent stitching on seats and steering wheel

• Matte carbon fiber doorsills, air register pods and center console

• Race Red exterior with white stripes and exposed carbon

• Red brake calipers

• Red seat belt webbing

• Satin dark stainless appliqués on instrument panel, door register bezels and X-brace.

• Serialized identification plate

• Silver rearview mirror caps

This Heritage Edition is unique on the inside as well. Its interior is filled with anodized accents, dark stainless appliqués, matte carbon fiber panels, and red stitching accents.

“In creating a worthy successor to the 2017 Heritage edition, we logically looked at our next historic Le Mans victory with the all-American team of Dan Gurney and A.J. Foyt,” Dave Pericak, global director Ford Performance, said. “The 2018 Ford GT ’67 Heritage edition pays homage to that win, with a modern take on one of the most important vehicles in Ford’s storied history of racing.”
