JailThe FordMuscle Forums gives us, and others, interesting insight into our readers. We figure, based on the posts you put up and reply to, that Ford enthusiasts come from all walks of life. However since less than 1% of FordMuscle’s total readers (currently over 200,000 per year) use the forums, we have to assume that we are hardly scratching the surface in understanding who our readers are. Our suspicions were confirmed when today we received a call inquiring about our annual subscription.

The caller, a woman (noteworthy only because 90% of our subscribers are men), asked whether we offer discounts for multiple subscriptions. Not an unusual request since we’ve given volume discounts to trade schools in the past, but I asked her to elaborate. She indicated she was with an agency that purchases books and magazines and that she wanted to receive multiple copies. I told her that we do not send out a printed magazine, that FordMuscle is an online publication and the subscription yields access to all of our digital content. She hesitated and then said, “Well that poses a problem.” Curious how someone could find our phone number(it’s only listed on this website) and not realize we are online, I asked, “Why is this a problem?” To which she replied, “I buy subscriptions for a correctional facility, and the inmates do not have access to computers.”

So I suppose now we can boast that along with readers in far away places such as Finland, Brazil, and Saudi Arabia we also have some in prison.
