MondeoFord has reportedly paid movie producers $24.5 million to have the Ford Mondeo car used in the next 007 movie. “Casino Royale” will feature actor Daniel Craig as the new James Bond. His payment for the move is just over $3 million. While the primary car in the movie will be the Aston Martin DBS, the modified Mondeo ST 220 model will be used for chase scenes in the Bahamas.

The Mondeo is a Ford model produced and sold in the UK and parts of Europe. The ST 220 model utilizes the 3.0L 24-valve Duratec V6 engine. With the six speed manual transmission the car is pretty snappy, hitting 0-60 in about 7.5 seconds and capable of a 155mph top speed. Too bad the car isn’t offered in the US, it’d likely be more successful than selling Lincoln Zephyrs to the hip-hop crowd.
