There can be little doubt that over the next year we will all experience 2015 Mustang overload. This car will be hot and set the stage for the next decade of Mustang performance. A few weeks ago we showed you the preview from Saleen of their 2015 Mustang design. Today saw the release of a teaser from another well known Mustang constructor and outfitter, ROUSH Performance, via their Facebook page.
If you frequent our magazine then you know we’re fans of ROUSH products. We’ve thoroughly tested the high horsepower Stage 3 edition of the car in S197 trim. We even built a project car to mimic the appearance of a ROUSH Mustang in our own Project Silver Bullet.
This shadowy image offers little in terms of perspective on what the ’15 ROUSH will look like. For now all we have is the silhouette of what will surely be an epic combination of horsepower, looks, and performance.
There can be little doubt that ROUSH will take full advantage of the improvements to the ’15 chassis and then go several steps further. We expect to see everything from the Stage 1 through Stage 3 treatments once again, and we fully expect some big horsepower numbers from the next generation Hyper-Pony Stage 3.
Expect improvements to the aerodynamics, exhaust, chassis, interior, and under the hood. If we had to guess we’d say Stage 1 cars could easily push 450 hp or more off the showroom floor with little more than an exhaust upgrade, cold air intake, and ROUSH specific tune as standard equipment. While the current Stage 3 was an awesome car that worked well on the street or track we fully expect ROUSH to take advantage of the revised cylinder heads and intake of the Coyote engine as well as the all new chassis. We were able to pull over 1g in cornering with the 2014 Stage 3. That leads us to wonder how hard we can push the suspension past that mark in the 2015.
Stay tuned, we’re sure the 2015 Mustang with the ROUSH treatment will be one great looking and great performing car. ROUSH is promising to release more information in the coming weeks. ’15 is going to be a great year to be a Mustang enthusiast.
