A few months back, during the American Muscle Car show, we brought you the big announcement that AM and Mustang Madman Vaughn Gittin Jr, along with his RTR brand had joined forces. In a special announcement at the show, Gittin revealed the renderings for the 2015 RTR Mustang. Just a few months later we’re finally getting a look at images and the full details on the real deal.
This car will be offered through a select dealer network beginning in January 2015. The RTR package is available on the Mustang GT 5.0 and the Mustang EcoBoost. The RTR will be offered in two trim levels, Spec 1 and Spec 2.
Spec 1 cars will be all about appearance modifications. Those modifications will include:
- RTR Spec 1 and Spec 2 chin spoiler
- RTR rear spoiler
- RTR rear diffuser with side splitters
- RTR rocker splitters
- RTR upper grill with integrated lighting
- RTR lower grill
Spec 2 cars will receive performance and handling upgrades in addition to the appearance upgrades. 5.0 equipped models will be capable of 725 hp thanks to an optional supercharger.
- Adjustable Dampers
- Adjustable sway bars
- Lowering springs
- RTR exclusive exhaust system by Magnaflow
- RTR custom tuning
- Optional supercharger
- RTR cold air intake system
“Ford has really done an amazing job with the new 2015 Ford Mustang,” says Vaughn Gittin Jr. “The all new platform has very easily allowed us to mesh RTR’s tastefully-aggressive styling and modified performance to offer our most capable, best-handling fun-to-drive RTR’s to date. If the slightly modified performance of the our Spec 1 is not enough, customers that demand more are sure to get their kicks with the up to 725 horsepower and optional fully-adjustable suspension that allows the driver to easily adjust the balance of the chassis to their liking. We feel we have developed very diverse and refined offerings, which was our number one goal to support the global release of the 2015 Ford Mustang and ensure our customers keep smiling and having fun behind the wheel of his or her RTR.”
If you’d prefer to build your own version of the RTR, the same parts going on the cars will be available exclusively through American Muscle, as will three exclusive new RTR wheel designs. We’re hopeful when this latest Mustang hits the streets early next year, that Gittin will give us an opportunity to spend a few days evaluating one. We’re sure January can’t come fast enough for many of you.
