NASCAR Angels… It’s “Good” TV

While I am not much of a TV viewer and I admittedly just don’t get NASCAR, here’s a program that deserves some real accolades for intergrity in an era of “look at me” television. NASCAR Angels, produced in partnership by Magic Dust Television and NASCAR, crushes Overhaulin and Pimp My Ride in the righteousness category by trading in symbolism for substance.

NASCAR Angels, NASCAR’s first nationally syndicated television show, gives deserving individuals across the country a transportation fix, and encourages motorists to take better care of their vehicles. NASCAR Angels is hosted by former NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Champion and current ABC/ESPN broadcaster Rusty Wallace, and NASCAR.COM talent Shannon Wiseman. Goodyear Gemini, a national automotive repair service provider, is the presenting sponsor of the show. Using the automotive products of NASCAR Performance partners, Goodyear Gemini technicians work to complete repairs on each vehicle. While performing repairs on the cars, the technicians also educate viewers on the importance of regular vehicle maintenance.

NASCAR Angels caught my eye during one episode where a regular family’s late model Mercruy Marquis was just plain freshened up and made safe again rather than “pimped” or “overhauled”. The show’s focus on finding deserving contestants rather than wanna-be gang bangers, the broke but fabulous, and celebrities, makes it a winner in my book. Check your local listings for NASCAR Angels.
