Ford truck fans distraught over the decision to axe the SVT Lightning program may take comfort in knowing Roush Performance has just filled the void for a supercharged F150. Their Stage 3 F150 adds 112HP with the ROUSHcharged 5.4L powertrain system. This brings the F-150 to 445HP and 500LB-FT. You supply the 5.4L equipped F150, plus about $20,000, and you’ll get back the torque beast resembling the image here, complete with all the Roush flare. Learn more at the Roush site.
i like the idea, just not the WAY out of touch price tag! im a ford guy thru and thru but im all about the fox body mustang for speed and performance. i drive a 93 GT with a few bolt ons and it put 220.6hp and 276lb/ft of torque to the wheels, not to mention when i redo the exhaust and put on a charger.
By Jeremy. August 2nd, 2007 at 11:01 pmI just wish they had put in a stick and not a sissyafied transmission.
By Mike. April 12th, 2007 at 3:34 pmI like the concept of this, but like what was already stated…I’m not with spending an extra 20,000 on a truck that is definately not worth the money….Test drive a SRT10 with the 6speed tranny…you’ll see and feel the difference….and be happy you made the right choice if you bought an SRT10…. Not knocking the blue oval guys, I own 2 10 second street legal mustangs…so I’m a fan…but the Lightning was a disapointment, not to mention the GT…with the exception of the Cobra…Face it Dodge is on top…they know what the public wants…and they know about performance an kickass styling….Can’t wait till the Challenger makes it debut to the public…Then lets line’em up
By Cowboy. February 6th, 2007 at 2:42 ami have number 479…had to do some minor tuning and she eats hemi’s and mustangs all day long…guess you will need a 2 thousand dollar chip and a tail wind hahaha
By kaiser_sosse42. January 23rd, 2007 at 7:12 amI just spent 1000.000 on a chip for my 07 diesel Crew cab and it will smoke the F150 roush in a 1/4 mile drag race. It runs low 14s

By Albert McDonald. June 25th, 2006 at 9:12 pmI’m on this website because I like to improve my vehicle and like reading the tips and articles here.
I just don’t understand why you need a TRUCK to be a performance vehicle, isn’t that what a Mustang is for? Last I seen gas was over $3/gallon and my Mustang will pound the crap out of this truck and get better gas mileage???
Not to knock on the truck owners, I am one myself as well, but why this in a truck?
By NailBuster. May 3rd, 2006 at 7:39 pm“Ford shouldve been the one to do this in the first place.
I guess ford doesnt even do this through the dealer as well??
What happens to the normal Ford warrentee?
Sigh, aside from the mustang this is begining to sound like Ford of the past.”
I agree. Ford could do the same thing for alot less money. When you say “Roush”, you say money!
I like the Roush products and the Nascar team, but I don’t care to pay for the name on my vehicle.
By msgtord. May 3rd, 2006 at 9:34 ampeople who buy Lightnings and performance vehicles in general buy them for speed, not mileage. A Toyota can get 60 mpg for all I care, but it will be an anemic little econobox like always that is not at all fun to drive.
By oldschoolmuscle. May 1st, 2006 at 3:18 pm“Why would you even want a truck like this? Ford axed the program because everyone is into buying Toyotas and fuel SAVING vehicles for the future and making vehicles for their customers, not just for the HANDFUL that want to burn a hole in their pocket, only to complain later on that it doesn’t get 30 mph like a Toyota. ”
If that’s what you really think, then I can’t figure out why you’re even on this web site.

By NailBuster. May 1st, 2006 at 8:29 amPersonally i think its pretty shity that ford didnt make a truck for the performance catagory we have had lightnings and i have driven a few an they always performed well. But as a young person I know affording a new F-150 is out of reach not to mention adding 20′gs on top the sticker price I will stick to my Black mustang for speed.

Drop the back of the cab off, drop 600lbs, and make it less than 40k and it would be cool.
