It’s Mustang Girl Monday brought to you by Team Mustang Girls. This week we are bringing you Stephani Behrle and her “Dark Horse.”Stephani grew up a tomboy, in love with the idea of owning a ‘hot rod’ someday. She’s the girl that got Car Craft magazine in the mail instead of Teen Beat. She fell in love with Mustangs after seeing them in the magazines and wanted one of her own ever since.
In 2004 Stephani made her dream a reality with a 2003 Silver Pony package V6. “To walk into the dealership and pay cash for the car of my dreams was an amazing feeling”. It was love at first drive and Stephani knew she was hooked right away. She named her “Silver Bullet” and had a 3rd brake light decal personalized to read ‘Stang Girl’, to show her love. Stephani had her Pony for a little over 9 yrs, until the car was totaled the day before her birthday in 2012. She was crushed and wasn’t sure she could find another car to replace her.
Stephani test drove a 2012 Camaro, and wasn’t impressed. She also test drove a 2012 Dodge Charger but didn’t get that feeling she had when driving a Mustang. She went online to search local Ford dealers in the area and then she found it, the ‘Dark Horse’. She is a Premium Coupe, Triple Black, V6 Pony Package Mustang. Stephani went for a test drive and knew right away that this was her new car. Being able to change the gauge lights, and all of the interior lighting to purple was a huge plus, but she wanted more. After having her car for a year and seeing all of the black Mustangs in her area, she knew she had to do something to make her car stand out. She wanted the ‘Stang Girl’ theme to carry over to this ride as well, in memory of her first one. Stephani found a site online that would personalize the 3rd brake light into ‘Stang Girl’ and added the purple pony lettering to the hood, then the fender and rocker stripes were next.
Stephani is grateful to her dad for turning her onto cars at such a young age. Her Dad is a huge car guy, whether it be building model cars or the real thing, and has been into the show scene for several decades. “He currently shows a one of a kind 1940 Ford Weapons Carrier that my grandfather helped rebuild and maintain for the Paoli VFW. It’s won a countless amount of trophies over the years at car shows around the area, including Best in Show, Peoples Choice and Kids Choice.” Stephani is determined to carry on the Ford family tradition.
